Founder & Owner
JIM MINCHER
Jim came to Wilmington from Texas via Miami to open Two Wheeler Dealer, and to be close to the surf. He is now celebrating over 40 years in the business. His first bike was a kid's Schwinn and his first road bike was a Raleigh Grand Prix. At least 80% of Jim's time is spent on the sales floor, so that he can promote his philosophy that bikes are fun and that the buyer needs to be happy. Jim as competed in triathlons (he became an Ironman at Ironman Brazil in 2004), road bike racing, mountain biking, cycle touring, and still rides a road bike numerous times a week. His passion since the age of 15 has been surfing and still surfs on a regular basis.
CHRIS BUTNER
Chris is originally from Maryland. She resided in the mountains of Virginia before moving to Wilmington in 1977. She spends her time at TWD in the office doing the bookkeeping, payroll, and other office tasks. As a child she had an Irishmail and then a Raleigh English bike. Now she rides a hybrid around the neighborhood.
CAMERON MOFFITT
Cameron hails from Texas by way of Charlotte. He has been working at TWD since 1994. Cameron not only does the receiving for TWD, he is often busy on the sales floor and in the repair area. His interests include cars, surfing and most his awesome young son, Noah.
BRIAN RIOUX
Brian was born in Massachusetts and lived in Hawaii before coming to Wilmington. He has been employed either full time or part time at TWD since 1994. Brian taught school for awhile but is now back full time working on the sales floor. He enjoys cycling, running, surfing and ice hockey. His favorite mountain bike event is the "24 Hours of Canaan", but his overall favorite event was finishing the Beach 2 Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon. Brian also is a daddy of three great kids!
JONATHAN MINCHER
Jonathan has been working at the shop for just about 10 years. He started out learning how to repair bikes in the service department and also likes to move out to the sales floor to learn a different aspect of the shop. Jonathan has been riding bikes all his life for either leisure or transportation. Surfing and skateboarding also take up a lot of his time and allow him to travel a fair bit.
LISA EDWARDS
Lisa is originally from Pennsylvania but has made Wilmington home since 1997. Her biking started out in neighborhoods with her children and has progressed to an obsession with self supported bicycle touring. Lisa has crossed the country both coast to coast as well as border to border on her bike. While working on the sales floor she is eager to offer suggestions to help you make your dream bicycle trip a reality.
SCOTT EHRHART
Scott, originally from Pennsylvania, came to Wilmington looking for opportunities in the art field. He had been a resident of Orlando, Florida and worked in sales and service at David's World Cycle for 5 years prior to joining TWD. In addition to being a lifelong cyclist, Scott is a special effects make-up artist and enjoys creating music for fun.
NICK HAHN
When parts began breaking on his BMX bike, Nick started turning wrenches to keep riding. For years he had fun putting this skill to good use doing repairs, between dirt jumping and ramp riding, while working st Dave Mirra's Eastwood Ramp Park. Shortly after the skatepark closed Nick joined the TWD team, and has been part of the family ever since. While working here his enthusiasm for two wheel adventures has taken him to teach BMX ramp riding at Camp Woodward, tour Nova Scotia, mountain bike endless miles of Western NC and complete the B2B Ironman.
DILLON MINCHER
Dillon was born and raised in Wrightsville Beach, NC where his love for the ocean started. He learned to ride a two wheeled bike at the age of 2 1/2 years old and has loved it ever since. Other activities he enjoys are surfing and fishing. Dillon has worked at the TWD for 5 years as a mechanic as well as the sales floor.
PAIGE WOODRUFF
Paige loves cycling because it helps people and the planet, in as many ways as there are people. She was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, visited Wilmington in 2002, and moved here in 2007. Paige would like to tour the world with the help of a bicycle.
CHARLIE GEORGE
Charlie is a rare local to the area! He has an extensive background in triathlons and has been with the organization of the Beach 2 Battleship for 8 years now. He is currently the bike course coordinator for the Ironman 70.3 North Carolina. Charlie is our bike fitter. He has been with us since 2014 as one of our master mechanics with a deep history in Shimano DI2 and Sram Etap systems. You will find him most Sundays out riding his DI2 bike.
AUSTIN FENWICK
Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, Austin began mountain biking after graduating from UNCW in 2007. He has served as Vice President of Cape Fear SORBA and was one of the founding coaches of the local NICA youth MTB team. He continues to be an avid mountain biker, even completing the famous Leadville 100 miler in 2016.
MISTY BROWN
Misty has competed in too many triathlons to count over the years. She has competed in 18 full Ironman races as well as the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in 2016. Working at TWD she has also found a love for mountain biking, yoga, swimming and racing in the outrigger canoe. Her friendly smiling face is around the shop sales floor most days!
LOGAN SMITH
Logan joined the team at TWD in 2018. Most of his time is spent in the service department assembling and repairing bicycles. He is passionate about mountain biking and spends his spare time at the local trails. His favorite trail in the area is Browns Creek Nature Park in Elizabethtown, NC. Logan also has a passion for the water and enjoys surfing and skim boarding when the waves are good. Logan is a proud uncle and loves to spend time with his two nephews and his niece.
GONZALO MENDOZA
Born in Guanajuato, Mexico, Gonzalo moved to the states when he was young. He did landscaping for 13 years in South Carolina before joining TWD and moving to Wilmington in 2023. He has been riding his 2011 Trek 1.1 road bike since High School. At 31 years old, he embarked on a new journey to become a well respected bicycle mechanic. You will find Gonzalo in the repair area assembling new bikes, working on repairs, and accommodating our Spanish speaking customers. He rides his bicycle everyday to work and enjoys long bike rides, running, soccer, kayaking and traveling to Mexico when he gets a chance.
SHAWN BARBOUR
Shawn moved to Wilmington from Vermont in 2020 and joined the staff at TWD in 2021. Although primarily a mountain biker he enjoys all forms of cycling. In the future he plans to take more trips to Western NC to explore the mountains and gravel roads and see what his new home state has to offer.
DERRICK MAREADY
Derick, a Wilmington native, has been in the bike industry for 20 years. He started working for TWD in 2020 in the service department. Derrick loves fixing bikes almost as much as riding them! He is a mountain bike enthusiast and daily commuter.
MILES MITCHELL
Miles is originally from Pennsylvania and came to Wilmington to attend UNCW. Before arriving in Wilmington, Miles worked in sales and service at Lowriders Bikes and Boards for four years. He has been riding bikes since a very young age and spends a lot of time mountain biking. Other than bikes and school, Miles enjoys running, surfing, and photography.
ALEX PRIESTLY
Alex, originally from Arizona, joined the TWD team in early 2022. His love for bikes started when he was very young and spent nearly every day on a bmx bike. In 2016, he found mountain biking and never looked back. Alex’s love for trail riding and thirst for bike knowledge led him to working at a family-owned bike shop in Mesa, AZ in 2021. There, he primarily worked in sales, but regularly serviced customer and rental bikes and even led a mountain bike tour of local trails. Now you can find him on our sales floor, where he enjoys getting people on their perfect bikes. If he is not at the shop, he can be found riding local trails, surfing, or training jiu jitsu.
